Answer-

Mahmud of Ghazni -

✍He invaded the Indian subcontinent 17 times between 1000 and 1027 CE.

Conditions at the time of Turkish Invasions-

There was no central and united force in India that had the strength to effectively tackle these invasions

In Central Asia, with the fall of the Abbasid Dynasty, the Turks had established smaller Islamic states . These smaller states were not economically very strong and their resources depended on the loot from other neighbouring states. Thus, the stage was set for invasion and plundering.

Why did Mahmud invaded India?

✴Mahmud of Ghazni had no interest in establishing an empire in India. He only wanted to plunder the wealth. The loot and plunder would replenish the resources of Ghazni and enable him to consolidate his vast rule in Khurasan and expand further into Central Asia.
