A reference point is a place or object used for comparison to determine if something is in motion. An object is in motion if it changes position relative to a reference point. Objects that are fixed relative to Earth – such as a building, a tree, or a sign - make good reference points.

The displacement and distance can be found out by finding the area under the curve of the velocity time graph. Also, we can find the acceleration by finding the slope of the velocity time graph.

so distance or displacement travelled by the electric train moving with velocity 120km/h in 30 sec is 1000 m.

Linear motion is also called rectilinear motion. It is a motion on a straight line in one-dimension. When the object travels along a straight line it changes its position along with time. It is an object, which doesn’t affect by the only force that can proceed in a circular motion that permanently, per Newton’s First Law of Motion.

Circular motion is an object’s moving across a circle or movement across a circular direction. It has a rotation around a fixed axis of the object which is three-dimensional and it involves circular motion of all its parts.
