Answer:

When electron transition from nth to ground state then Σ(n−1) spectral lines are produced

fourth energy level means n = 4

Thus if electrons transiton from fourth energy level then Σ(4−1)=3+2+1=6 spectral lines are produced

Hence, the correct option is C

Answer:

Answer. The electron is excited from the ground state (n=0) to n = 4 . Visible region will be n=1 i.e, lyman series and the ultraviolet region will be n=2 i.e, balmer series.

The maximum number spectral lines possible is 4.
