Answer: (i)x= 60 degrees, y= 60 degrees. (ii) q= 135 degrees, p= 45 degrees

Step-by-step explanation:

(i) as angle x and 60 degrees angle are vertically opposie angles,

angle x = 60 degrees ( since vertically opposite angles are always                    equal.)

angle x and angle y are corresponding angles. therefore, angle x= angle y = 60 degrees ( as corresponding angles are always equal)

(ii) angle q and 135 degrees angle are vertically opposite angles. therefore, angle q = 135 degrees(since vertically opposite angles are always equal.)

Let the angle next to angle p be angle r. angle r and 135 degrees angle are corresponding angles. therefore, angle r = 135 degrees ( as corresponding angles are always equal.)

angle p and angle r are a linear pair. therefore, angle p+ angle r= 180 degrees( as a linear pair is two adjacent angles which sum up to 180 degrees.) which gives angle p = 180 degrees - angle r

                                                 = 180-135

          therefore angle p = 45 degrees.
