The practice of growing only one type of crop on the same field is correctly referred to as monoculture.

Monoculture refers to the growing of the same kind of crops on the same field repeatedly.

This kind of practice has consequences on the fertility of the soil and renders the crops susceptible to attack by crop pathogens.
