Only variations that confer an advantage to an individual organism will survive in a population. Do you agree with answer and give reason for ur answer

Yes .If an ant killing powder is distributed to a population of ants.The ants which have the gene resistant to it , only will survive in this condition،all others will die.Here the variation between ants was the presence of a resistant gene.For the ant which possesses that gene, it is a suitable variation so it survived.
