Opal plots point D at (Negative 3 and one-half, one-half). Which graph shows the location of point D? On a coordinate plane, point D is 3 .5 units to the right and 0.5 units up. On a coordinate plane, point D is 3.5 units to the left and 0.5 units up. On a coordinate plane, point D is 0.5 units to the right and 3.5 units down. On a coordinate plane, point D is 0.5 units to the left and 3.5 units up.

Plotting a point in plane:

The given point in (-3\frac{1}{2},\frac{1}{2})

\quad\quad\quad \to (-3.5,0.5).

We must remember that when the abscissa is in negative sense, it lies on the left of the origin and when the ordinate is in positive sense, it lies above the origin.

Here abscissa is (-3.5) and ordinate is 0.5, and they fulfill the above condition.

Thus Option (B) on a coordinate plane, point D is 3.5 units to the left and 0.5 units up is correct.
