Rules for preposition:-

  • A preposition must have an object.

Ex :- They are in the kitchen.

  • Pre-preposition means place before.

Ex:-I put it in the box.

  • A Pronoun following gay preposition should be in object form.

Ex:-Mary gave it to them.

  • A preposition generally but not always goes before its noun or pronoun.
