OPQR is square and OAQB is quadrant, radius of the quadrant is 7 cm . Find the area of the shaded region

Area of quadrant,

 =  \frac{1}{4} \times  \frac{22}{7} \times 7 \times 7 = 38.5

Side of square,

d =  \sqrt{2} a \\ a =  \frac{d}{ \sqrt{2} }  =  \frac{7}{ \sqrt{2} }  = 4.95

Area of square

a \times a = 24.5

Area of the shaded region,

38.5 - 24.5 = 14 \:  {cm}^{2}
