Or A = I x b, where A is area, 7 is length and
We know that in case of a square, length = breadth
So, area of a square = side * side
or A = s * s, where A is area and s is side of the square.
Example 1: Find the area of a rectangular cardboard 1 m long
and 25 cm broad.
Solution : Length is in metres but the breadth is in cm. So,
we change length into cm.
Thus, 1 m = 100 cm
So, Area = I x b
= 100 25 sq cm
= 2,500 sq cm
Example 2 : Find the area of a square with side 7 cm.
Solution : Area = s S
= 7 * 7 sq cm = 49 sq cm.
