Yes , certainly why not. A teacher is a person that has the responsibility to built a nation . if he/ she does not teach what is right and wrong for us , then we can not run a good and healthy society.
OK let's take a example imagine a boy who do not obey the laws made in school then how can you imagine that he will follow the country law and society, he will become a ulcer for the society and illegal activities , he will always disturb his family and due to this family get spoiled and their generation will lost their future and remember that by the bonding of each unit family now you can imagine the importance of teacher in our world .
That why its very important that teacher should punish his student so that they learn from their early stage what is wrong and what is right .
What are the good values , without they can not distinguish between good and bad. I know it may feel harsh to the student but they will learn a good lesson and also the punishment should be in that way that student do not feel humiliated and molested also .
