electronic configuration of alkali metals ends with ns1, By losing outer most electron they will attain noble gas configuration. So 1st Ionisation enthalpy is very low ( because they tend to be stable).
Now 2nd electron is to be removed from noble gas configuration which means high ionisation enthalpy is required.
