Sn1 reactions are undergone by tertiary alcohols followed by secondary alcohols and in these reactions carbonium intermediate is formed and transfer of H or CH3 takes place based on attaining maximum stability.Inversion product is formed.
Sn2 reactions are undergone by primary followed by secondary and transition state is formed resulting in racemic mixture as product.
