The organisms that prepare ‘food for themselves’ using simple naturally available ‘raw materials’ are referred to as (b) autotrophs.

The autotrophs that is mostly plants contain the pigment called chlorophyll (green pigment) present in the chloroplast organelle of the plant cell that traps sun light to help in production of starch (food) by using the raw materials such as ‘carbon dioxide’ and ‘water’ that are present in the nature.
