The annual sports meet and Annual Day celebration was organised at Sri Vidhya Academy International Residential School, Sokkanallur, on January 24.
The sports meet was inaugurated by Gopalji Malaviya, Dean & Director of Hindustan University. He was given the guard of honour by the school pupil leader and the leaders of various houses. He also distributed prizes to the winners of various sports events conducted earlier.
School principal, Meenakshi Madhusudanan, presented the annual report, which epitomised the skills and talents of students during the academic year. School Chairman, Nanjil R. Kennedy, honoured the chief guest. Students presented yoga and karate demonstration, which was an attraction of the evening.
Students showcased their unity, understanding and will-power in the various forms of sports activities and forming of human pyramid was an eye-catching one.
The Annual Day celebration began with the invocation of ‘Ganesha: Lord of Success’.
As this year’s theme is set upon Time Machine, the K.G students took everyone to the prehistoric era with their tribal dance. Primary section students performed a dance showing various harvest festivals of India which transformed us from hunters to cultivators. Middle school students performed a French skit showing that in some part of the world human were trying to gain liberty from human.
‘Villupattu’ was sung by middle and higher class girls. The last programme was a fusion dance of senior division girls and boys.
