Answer:

The small intestine is the part of the gastrointestinal tract between the stomach and the large intestine where much of the digestion of food takes place. The primary function of the small intestine is the absorption of nutrients and minerals found in food.

The small intestines are the absorption organs.

Explanation:

  • Food must be taken into the bloodstream as it is broken down into smaller and simpler particles. The digested meal can only reach numerous cells and tissues through the blood and circulatory system.
  • Simple sugars, glycerol, amino acids, and a few vitamins and minerals are carried to the liver by blood from the digestive organs. These chemicals are stored and processed in the liver. They're also cleansed here. It transports nutrients to the rest of the body as and when they are required.
  • Absorption is the process through which the end products of digestion are absorbed into the blood or lymph from the intestinal mucosa. The body's passive, active, or assisted transport mechanisms all play a role in this process. The small intestine is where absorption takes place.
