• Present ages

Solution :

✦Let the Riya's age be x then Aman's age be 2x ✦

• Five years ago
• Riya's age = x - 5
• Aman's age = 2x - 5

✪ According to the given condition ✪

➞ 2x - 5 = 3(x - 5)

➞ 2x - 5 = 3x - 15

➞ 15 - 5 = 3x - 2x

➞ 10 = x

➞ x = 10

Hence,

• Present age of Riya = x = 10 years
• Present age of Aman = 2x = 20 years
