SOLUTION

TO DETERMINE

The greatest and the smallest number among the following real numbers-

2√3 , 3√2 , - √7 , √15

EVALUATION

Here the given real numbers are

2√3 , 3√2 , - √7 , √15

Now we simplify them as below

 \sf{2 \sqrt{3}  =  \sqrt{(2 \times 2 \times 3)}  =  \sqrt{12} }

 \sf{3 \sqrt{2}  =  \sqrt{3 \times 3 \times 2} =  \sqrt{18}  }

 \sf{ -  \sqrt{7} }

 \sqrt{15}

Clearly

 \sf{ \sqrt{18} >   \sqrt{15}   >  \sqrt{12} >  -  \sqrt{7}  }

Hence the greatest number = 3√2 and the Smallest number = - √7
