the happy prince was the story of a prince and a swallow.
In this story it is said that the Prince had to live in the palaca and was not allowed to go out . He lived in a big and beautiful palace with a garden surrounded by high walls on every side of the garden .
It was the winter time and all the birds went to a warmer place to save their lives from the cold weather but swallow remained in that place because he wanted a frndship with a bird whom he liked .
But soon he felt very sick due to the cold weather so he started to fly to another country .
Soon outside the city the swallow saw that there was a huge statue of the prince covered with gold leaves and had a diamond crown and a precious ruby in the sword and his eyes were made of blue diamonds . Swallow thought to rest beneath the statue and when he was off to sleep a water drop came to his face . when he looked up he saw that the statue was crying . He was shocked but then he flew to the prince shoulder and asked the reason . The prince told that he is dead but his heart in the statue is made up of metal . He told that all his life when he was alive he thought that there was no worries every one was happy in his city but it was not true there were many people who is facing difficulties which makes him cry .
He asked the swallow that will you help me . The swallow said how can he help him . Prince replied there is a man in the city who wants to write a story but due to his hungerness he cannot so can you take out the diamont crown and give it to him . Swallow agreed and took the crown to that man . when the swallow entered the house it looked very old . when he was searching for the man he saw that he was sleeping in his living room so the swallow quietly kept the crown and went back to the statue and slept on the prince's feet . Next morning the swallow thought to take a look of the city and went to see now during evening time again he came back to the prince to say good bye but the prince again stopped him asking for just 1 night more . The swallow agreed . At that night the statue told him that at the end of the city there is a small house and a mother with his son lives in it . the stafue told that the son is sick and asking for oranges
but his mother is poor and can only give him sea water so can he take the ruby from his sword and give it to the mother . Swallow agreed and took the ruby he entered the home from a window and slipped the ruby on mother's hand and ce back to the prince .
Now everyday this started the swallow wanted to go but the statue stopped him .
One day the mayor of that city told that how ugly the statue had become and it dont have golden leaves nor the diamond crowns or the ruby and the blue diamond eyes and the public also supported the mayor . the mayor told the chief of the city to take the staute of the prince and throw it . the chief thrown the statue into a machine in which ot would be destryoyed but the swallow was lying dead on his feet bcoz of the winter . When the statue was destroyed his metal Heart was destroyed too and the soul of the prince came out and wass free now .
Now, two angels of god came to the prince and the swallow and took them to the heaven were the prince was made the chief of what is good to do and the swallow was the god's singer . The swallow had to sing song for the god.
In this way they lived their afterlife in heaven and their frndship is remembered in the city
