definition- Osmoregulation is the constant maintenance of osmotic pressure in body fluids composed of water and electrolytes such as Na, Mg, Ca ions.

it is regulated by controlling the amount of filterate absorbed in the kidneys.


In humans osmoregulation is looked after by three main hormones-

· Angiotensin

· Aldosterone

· vasopressin.
