"Osmosis is a special kind of diffusion"

Osmosis is a special kind of diffusion because basically water can diffuse through the membrane, but nothing else in the water that is- salt, sugar and other solute can diffuse. In osmosis movement of water molecules only occur and also a semi- permeable membrane is involved in osmosis. Osmosis occurs from high concentration to the low concentration.
