Osmosis is a special kind of diffusion. It is the movement of solvent molecules (example water) from a region of it's higher concentration to it's lower concentration through a semi permeable membrane.
Thus, osmosis is a kind of diffusion occurring only in liquids whereas diffusion can occur in solid , liquid or gases.
