Answer:

"Osmosis is a special kind of diffusion"

Osmosis is a special kind of diffusion because basically water can diffuse through the membrane, but nothing else in the water that is- salt, sugar and other solute can diffuse. In osmosis movement of water molecules only occur and also a semi- permeable membrane is involved in osmosis. Osmosis occurs from high concentration to the low concentration.

Answer:

Here's your answer

Osmosis is the spontaneous movement of particles from a region of higher concentration to a region where it's concentration is low through a semi permeable membrane....

While diffusion is also same it is the movement of particles from high concentration to low concentration... but in this case semi permeable membrane is not required...

So we can say that OSMOSIS is a type of diffusion...

Hope it helps ...
