Use the Vant Hoff eqn for osmotic press II
II = iMRT
M = molarity ; T in Kelvin; R gas constant.
Calc molarity :
Conc. urea is 0.6 in 100 = 6 in 1 Litre. Mol wt urea = 60 so it is 0.1 molar.
Do same for sugar (sucrose m.wt. 342) = 0.1 molar.
Combined modularity = 0.2 =M
The van't hoff factor i can be assumed as = 1 for dilute solutions.
So, II =0.2 x 0.082 x 300 = 4.92atm
