Saprophytic Nutrition. In saprophytic nutrition the organisms obtain their food from dead and decaying organic matter of dead plants, dead animals and other decomposing organic matter.

Autotrophs eat plants, heterotrophs eat other animals and saprophytes eat on other decaying matter. These saprophytes may even act like “parasites” and leech the resources of off an animals!!! Mushrooms are the most common examples of a saprophyte.

It doesn't have types . They feed on dead and decaying matter and first convert dead material into juice and then feed on it.
