3/4 x 1/2 because "of" means multiply.

The numerators 3 and 1 from each

fraction get multiplied. The denominators

can be then multiplied, (4 x 2).

When we do this,we get 3 on top from 3 x

1

And on the bottom you get 8, from 4 x2

Therefore, 3/8

Another way of thinking about this is to

think of how to cut up the fraction 3/4 like

a piece of pie but in more parts.

3/4 is the same as what? 6/8

Cutting the 6 in haf... That leaves 3 of 6,

or 3/8.
