It is quite true our attitude to a situation determines everything, including our state of mind. Optimistic attitude brings us lasting happiness; on the contrary, negative attitude results in worry, tensions, and depression.
In the poem Dust of Snow, the poet’s mood was transformed by a nature. As he was enjoying an evening walk on a wintry evening, a crow inadvertently threw some snow on him while he was passing under a tree. This uplifted the poet’s mood which had been melancholy for some personal reason.
The poet took the falling of snow as healthy; if he had taken it negatively, he would have been further depressed.
So, it is better to look at the world through optimism than negativity.
The poem Dust of Snow shows how nature played a role in changing the poet’s state of mind.
