Answer:

Our democratic government has indeed protected interests of backward classes by many ways like:-

  1. It has banned untouchability. This has ensured equal treatment of all the citizens, no matter which caste or class they might belong to.
  2. Seats are reserved for backward classes like Scheduled Castes(SCs), Sheduled Tribes(STs) and Other Backward Classes (OBCS) in legislatures and government posts.
  3. The effects of decades of discrimination can be felt even today. In order to finish this, completely free education and scholarships in universities is given to such classes.
  4. Seats for them are even reserved in the Panchayati Raj.
  5. These methods have certainly improved their condition. Today, we do not seem to really matter about who's eating in the next table at any restaurant or who's walking beside us on roads.

Hope it helps.

Answer:

(1) citizens are involved in the process of decision making so that poor people can also voice their opinion and law makers can make rules accordingly. (2) There is an electoral system in place that helps to secure the interests of the backward sections of the society.
