No. of slices = 8
No. of slices given to guests = 3
No. of slices left with him = 8 - 3 = 5

Hence, fraction of the cake left with Einstein = 5/8.

Hope it helps.

Number of slices the cake is cut into = 8

Number of slices given away = 3

Find the number of slices that are left:

Left = Original number of slices - slices given away

Left = 8 - 3 = 5

Find the Fraction of the cake left:

Fraction = slices left / original number of slices

Fraction = 5/8

Answer: 5/8 of the cake is left.
