Our ‘muscle cells’ perform anaerobic respiration during exercise.

Explanation:  

When our body works out so hard there is a depletion of oxygen in our body, at the same time the body also require a lot of energy to balance the metabolism that happens during metabolism.

Hence it performs an anaerobic metabolism to break down the glucose and produce energy, this leads to building up of fatigue. The amount of ‘lactic acid’ produced should also be metabolised for further action of the muscle.
