Psychology, asked by Ujjwalsevralike1, 1 year ago

Our school doesn't give the subject of psychology to humanities' students.

If I choose to do psychology openly without help from any teacher. Can I still opt. for the subject 'Psychology' in the school?

+ I don't want to change school

I am not if sure you can 'opt' for the subject as such, not in school at least. After that in 11th/12th if you want, or in BA first year, you can select it as your subject.

Also, yes you can definitely learn about psychology w/o any guidance. There are several branches of psychology, but you may want to start with reading social psychology, because that is the base. You can purchase reference books and refer to YouTube.

I hope it helps!

Ujjwalsevralike1: Well, thanks for taking some time to answer my question. I'll see what can I do about my problem. One more question, can you recommend me any good psychological book that may help me to learn the basic? I think that will help me...
kalemugdha1916: Honestly, you can find a dozen of books on psychology. But I would recommend you to try reading from the NCERT 11th (SSC) psychology book, because it is concised and comprises of the material that a student would require. It's a thin and methodical book, right from the history of psychology to concepts like learning, memory, intelligence, personality, etc. I think that should be good way to start.
kalemugdha1916: If it's of any help, I'm majoring in psychology, and am im SY currently. I'm open to any questions related to psychology, if you need. :)
Ujjwalsevralike1: Thanks, I appreciate your help. :-)
Ujjwalsevralike1: A lot!
kalemugdha1916: anytime :)
