 The scriptures teach gratitude and humility. Grandmother was illiterate but she was well versed in the values taught by the scriptures. She used to ask her granddaughter to read out the serial, Kashi Yatre to her. She would memorize it and go and tell the story to others in the temple courtyard. After her granddaughter taught her to read she was very grateful to her. Her granddaughter was her teacher so in order to show her gratitude she touched her feet. She was humble and did not hesitate to touch her granddaughter's feet.
