Our solar system consists of sun, eight planets and their natural satellites, asteroids and meteors, etc. The sun is the nearest star to our planet which has its own light. Other planets and terrestrial bodies don’t have their own light; they get light from the sun. The mass of the sun is 1.989 x 10³⁰ kg. The mass of the earth is 5.97 x 10²⁴ kg and that of the moon is 7.35 x 10²² kg. The diameter of the sun is 1.4 x 10⁹ m, the diameter of the earth is 1.2756 x 10⁷ m and the diameter of the moon is 3474.2 km. The distance between the earth and the moon is 3.84 x 10⁸ m and the distance between the sun and the earth is 1.496 x 10¹¹ m. During the solar eclipse moon comes in between the earth and the sun where as during lunar eclipse earth comes in between the sun and the moon.

Answer:

(c) 4.029 x 10⁴

Step-by-step explanation:

about 108 times

The diameter of the sun is about 108 times that of the diameter of Earth. The average distance between the Earth and the Sun is 108 times the sun's diameter. The average distance from the Earth to the Moon is 238,800 miles, about 108 times the moons diameter.
