Pluto is no more planet because it is the only planet whose orbit cuts through the other planet, the Neptune. In fact, due to this reason, Pluto is sometime closer to the Earth as compared to Neptune. According to new definition of planets adopted by the International Astronomical Union (IAU) a planet is an object that orbits Sun. Pluto is assigned the asteroid number 134340, by which it will be known now.
