People who caste vote = 60%,

then

people who didn't caste vote = 40%,

Therefore

No. of people who caste vote = 15000 × 40%,

= 15000 × 40/100,

Provided Question

Out of 15,000 voters in a constituency 60% voted. Find the percentage of Voters who didn't vote?

Required Solution

Given:

  • Total voters = 15,000

  • Percentage of voters who voted = 60%

To calculate:

  • Number of voters who didn't vote

Calculation:

If 60% voters has voted the percentage of voters who didn't vote will be :–

  • % age of voters who didn't vote = 100% - 60%

= 40%

So, 40% didn't vote.

Also, number of voters who didn't vote will be :–

  • Number of voters who didn't vote = 40% of total voters

 \longrightarrow 40% × 15,000

 \rm { \longrightarrow \cancel{\dfrac{40}{100}} \times 15,000}

 \rm { \longrightarrow \dfrac{2\cancel{0}}{5\cancel{0}} \times 15,000}

 \rm { \longrightarrow \dfrac{2}{\cancel{5}} \times \cancel{15,000}}

 \rm { \longrightarrow 2 \times 3000}

 \rm { \longrightarrow 6,000}

Therefore, 6,000 voters didn't vote.
