Step-by-step explanation:

no. of students passed = 40

a section = 60%

b section = 30%

reamaning = 60%-30%= 30%

so , 30% in c section

so then

a section = 60 X 40 ÷ 100 = 24

b section = 30 X 40÷100 = 12

c sction = 30 X 40 ÷ 100 = 12

Given :

Total number of students passed = 40

Number of students passed in first division = 60%

Number of students passed in second division = 30%

remaining students passed in third division.

To find :

number of students passed in each category.

Solution:

Total number of students passed = 40

60% passed in first division

60% of 40

(60 /100) x 40

=( 3/5) x (40)

= 24

Number of students passed in second division = 30%

Now we have to find out 30% of 40

(30/100) x 40

= (3/10) x 40

= 12

Remaining students got third division

So deduction will be carried out .

Number of students getting third division

40 - ( 24 + 12)

= 40 - 36

= 4 students

Hence number of students passed in each division -

24 students in first division.

12 students in second division

4 students passed in third division.
