Given :

Total no.of people = 500

No.of people using taxi = 200

No.of people using sumo = 150

To find :

Probability of person using taxi if chosen at random

and

Probability of person using sumo if chosen at random

Solution :

We know that probability = no.of outcome in a specified case / total no. of outcome

So, in case of people using taxi,

Probability of person using taxi if chosen at random = 200/500

=2/5

In case of people using sumo,

Probability of person using sumo if chosen at random=

150/500

=15/50

=3/10

Therefore, Probability of person using taxi if chosen at random is 2/5 whereas Probability of person using sumo if chosen at random is 3/10.
