Answer:

65 percentage

Step-by-step explanation:

Total students= 900

Went for picnic= 315

Remaining students = 900-315 = 585

Percentage of remaining students = Remaining students/Total Students*100

                                                          = 585/900*100

                                                          = 585/9

                                                          = 65 percentage

Given :-

Total number of students = 900

No. of students went for picnic = 315

To Find :-

The percentage of students who did not went for the picnic.

Solution :-

Let the percentage be x

No. of students who did not went for the picnic = Total number of students - no. of students who went to the picnic.

= 900 - 315

= 585

Therefore, 585 students did not went for the picnic.

According to question,

x % of 900 = 585

{\dfrac{x \times 900}{100}}\: =\: 585

=>\: x\: =\: {\dfrac{585 \times 100}{900}}

=> x = 65.

Therefore the percentage is 65%

Verification :-

65% of 900 = 585

{\dfrac{65 \times 900}{100}}\: =\: 585

=> 585 = 585

Since LHS = RHS, Hence Verified.
