Step-by-step explanation:

1/3 × 4500 = $1500 [ Savings ]

2/3 × 4500 = $3000

50% × 3000 = $1500

20% × 3000 = $600

Thus,

You spent $1500 on food.

You spent $600 on rent.

Given:

Total salary = $4500 /-

One third of salary is kept as savings

Out of remaining money, he spend 50 % on food and 20 % on house rent.

To Find:

How much do he spend on food and house rent?

Solution:

Total salary = $4500 /-

Savings = 1/3×($4500) = $1500

Now salary left = $4500 - $1500 = $3000

Now ATQ

Out of remaining salary

50 % spend on food = 50/100×3000 = $1500

20% spend on house rent = 20/100×3000 = $600

Hence, $1500 is spent on food and $600 is spent on house rent.
