let the total number of bees be x

1/5th of these bees settled on kadamba ⇒ x/5 bees settled on kadamba

1/3rd of these bees settled on silindhiri ⇒ x/3 bees settled on silindhiri

3 times the difference between kadamba and silindhiri flew to kutaja

⇒ the number of bees settled on kutaja = 3(x/3 - x/5)

and after all these settling there were 10 bees left

⇒ x/5 + x/3 + 3(x/3 - x/5) + 10 = x

⇒ 8x/15 -3x/5 + 10 = 0

⇒ -x/15 = -10

⇒ x = 150

⇒ the total number of bees are 150
