The molar conductance of strong KCl,as well as weak electrolytes increase with decrease in concentration or increase in dilution. Equivalent conductivity also increases with dilution because of increase in volume containing one gram equivalent of the electrolyte.

For KCl solutions, the molar conductivity and the equivalent conductivity are equal .

- Molar conductivity = (κ × 1000)/M

- Equivalent Conductivity = (κ × 1000)/N

- For KCl, n=1

⇒ N = n × M = 1 × M = M

- For BaCl₂, n=2

⇒ N = n × M = 2 × M = 2M

- Since for KCl, N = M, therefore, its Molar conductivity and equivalent conductivity are equal whereas for BaCl₂, N = 2M, so its molar conductivity will be double of its equivalent conductivity.
