60% was travelled by Bus.....
So, The rest.....i.e.(100-60)% = 40% was travelled by train.....
So NOW,
Distance travelled by bus =
60\% \: of \: 1500 \\ = \frac{60}{100} \times 1500 \\ = 900km
And, Distance travelled by train =
40\% \: of \: 1500 \\ = \frac{40}{100} \times 1500 \\ = 600km
--------------------------OR---------------------------
Distance travelled by train =
Total Distance travelled - Distance travelled by Bus = 1500km - 900km = 600km

THERE YOU GO!!!.....
