CCl4 is very volatile because:
- Volatility of compounds depends on polarity and molar masses.
- More polar the molecule, less volatile it is.
- Lower molar mass results in more volatility.
you didn't tell which ether is it so we can't compare CCl4 and any general ether but Diethyl ether (CH3CH2OCH2CH3) is highly volatile.
