Out of nitrogen and oxygen which one has higher ionisation enthalpy and why????
Please help me....

Nitrogen has higher Ionization enthalpy than that of Oxygen because Configuration of Nitrogen is N-1s2 2s2 2p3 and configuration of Oxygen is O- 1s2 2s2 2p4;

When we make a look at these configuration we get they Nitrogen has higher ionization enthalpy than oxygen as because that half filled configurations are more stable,Hence the proof
