Sericulture is also known as silk farming. It is the cultivation of silkworms to produce raw silk. Bombyx mori species are generally used for the silk cultivation. In sericulture, the larvae are raised to form cocoons from which raw silk is produced.

Moriculture is the cultivation of mulberry plants which are used to feed the silkworms. Moriculture is important for the production of silk. Sericulture depends on moriculture for the food of the silkworms.
