In series both bulb get same current and glows equally.
But in parallel combination 100 w bulb glows brightly.

The resistance of the bulbs is defined as R = V^2/P . So the resistance of 50W bulb is double than the resistance of 100W blub.

When they are connected in series the current through both blubs is same. Hence 50W bulb will be brighter because P = I^2×R .

In parallel the voltage will be same in both bulbs. So, the 100W will be brighter because P = V^2/R .
