Outer subshell electronic configuration of certain elements are given:

B- 3d¹4s²

a) S-block comprises 14 elements namely hydrogen (H), lithium (Li), helium (He), sodium (Na), beryllium (Be), potassium (K), magnesium (Mg), rubidium (Rb), calcium (Ca), cesium (Cs), strontium (Sr), francium (Fr), barium (Ba), and radium (Ra).

c) If the element is in the d block, then the number of the group can be determined by the formula: number of electrons in(n−1)subshell + (number of electrons in (n) s subshell).
