Over the next two days, the Employment Agency is interviewing clients who
wish to find jobs. On the first day, the agency plans to interview clients in groups of
2. On the second day, the agency will interview clients in groups of 4. If the
an employment agency will interview the same number of clients each day, what is
the smallest number of clients that could be interviewed each day?
Please help me!! And please check for me whether my answer is correct.
Answer:
Given: interview for two days, first day: clients in group of 2, second day: clients
in group of 4
Find: if they interview same number of clients on each day, find the smallest number
of clients on each day.
The problem is LCM, as it says the smallest number of clients on each day.
By using Prime Factorization, we have to find the prime factors of each number:
First Day: 2 clients = 2*1
Second Day: 4 clients = 2*2
LCM of (2,4) is = 2*1*2 = 4
ANS: The smallest number of clients interviewed on each day is 4 clients.
