carbon dioxide which gets collected in human tissues will be transported to lungs through veins and it gets exhaled out with the help of alveoli in lungs. When carbon dioxide happens to get collected in the human tissues they are transported back to the lungs to be expelled out from the body.

- Nearly 20-25% of CO2 is transported by RBC
- 70% as bicarbonate
- 7% in a dissolved state through plasma
