In caocl2 the oxidation number of chlorine is +1 and – 1 in ca(ocl)cl in ocl oxidation of chlorine is +1

Manushichhillar: For the other chlorine?

let the oxidation state of chlorine be X
then
by the using the rules to find oxidation state
we have
2+(-2)+2x=0
therefore oxidation state of chlorine is 0
however the chlorine atom exits in 2 different oxidation state of +1 and -1
